Scott Feldman and three relievers combined on a four-hit shutout Saturday as Texas beat Minnesota 3-0. Feldman (14-4) gave up the four hits in 5 2/3 innings before relief stints by Neftali Feliz, C.J.

Marlon Byrd hit two home runs, had four RBI and paced a 17-hit attack Thursday that propelled the Texas Rangers to an 11-1 whipping of Minnesota. The Rangers remained a game behind Boston in the American League wild-card race and inched within 5 ½ games of the Los Angeles Angels for the lead in the AL West. Texas split the four-game series, but lost its two previous outings after letting leads of five and four runs get away in the middle innings.

Julio Borbon went 4-for-5 with two RBI, a pair of runs scored and four stolen bases Saturday to lead the Texas Rangers to a 7-2 win over Boston. Borbon, the team's first-round pick in the 2007 draft, had just three hits and one stolen base in five games going into Saturday. Josh Hamilton had two RBI, and Ian Kinsler homered for the Rangers, who stole a franchise-best eight bases en route to their sixth win in nine games.
