THE future of the River Tyne's celebrated salmon stocks is being preserved thanks to a new attraction. The Kielder Salmon Centre is now open for visitors. The Environment Agency-run hatchery was opened 30 years ago to help preserve salmon stocks following the loss of important breeding habitats.
