Text of report in English by South Korean news agency Yonhap Seoul, Jan. 20 (Yonhap) - South Korea's next government will encourage the country's state-run gas corporation to acquire "proven" overseas fields as part of an effort to raise the country's self-sufficiency in the vital resource.
Korea Gas Corp., the world's biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, is seeking a $938 million loan to buy four liquid natural gas tankers. KGC plans to buy the vessels as part of a joint venture with three other South Korean companies, JoongAng Daily said Thursday.
