Koyie Hill and Micah Hoffpauir each drove in two runs Wednesday, powering the Chicago Cubs' 8-5 win over Pittsburgh that capped a three-game sweep. Hoffpauir hit a solo homer and a sacrifice fly. Hill's two-run single expanded Chicago's lead to 6-2 with two outs in the top of the seventh. Four other Cubs also drove in runs. Winner Carlos Zambrano (8-6) gave up two runs on eight hits and three walks in six innings.
Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano got the win and went 3-for-4 at the plate in Chicago's 11-3 rout of the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday. Zambrano (2-1) homered and drove in a pair of runs while limiting the host Diamondbacks to three runs on eight hits in seven innings.
The Chicago Cubs traded embattled catcher Michael Barrett and cash to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday for backup catcher Rob Bowen and minor league outfielder Kyler Burke.
