Rehearsals for the Broadway revival of the Tony-winning musical Bye Bye Birdie have begun in New York with an opening date of Oct.
Nolan Gerard Funk, star of the TV movie musical Spectacular!, has been cast in the role of Conrad Birdie in the Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie. The Roundabout Theatre Company in New York made the casting announcement Friday. Bye Bye Birdie will be the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre on Broadway, the Roundabout Theatre Company announced Monday. Preview performances are to begin Sept. 10, 2009, with an opening night planned for Oct. 15, 2009. The limited engagement is set to play through Jan.
