The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind has helped nearly 400 visually impaired Israelis since 1991 by training dogs to respond to commands, familiarizing them with local Israeli streets, as well as safety protocols. A humane education program worked with ninety teens who were interested in becoming veterinarians or veterinary-medicine technicians.

The program, made possible by a grant from Winnick Family Foundation, lays the groundwork for teaching children in Jerusalem about environmentally-friendly materials, principles of sustainability, and how to preserve the earth through knowledge of science and technology.
