THE traffic commissioner for Scotland has lent her support to a new award to recognise the Lothian Buses driver who has "gone the extra mile" to help passengers.

CAMPAIGNERS have won their fight for road repairs which were preventing low-floored buses from using a popular city route to be carried out. Disability action groups and politicians had called for action to be taken on the junction of Craighouse Gardens and Craighouse Road.

By Andrew Picken PASSENGERS on Edinburgh's only route without low-floor buses are being punished by the city's backlog of road repairs, campaigners said today.

MORE than 50,000 leaflets containing bus timetables for the festive period have been distributed to vehicles and travel shops. The guide includes details of Lothian Buses' Christmas, Boxing Day, Hogmanay and New Year timetables.
