Trevor Daley's goal 16 seconds into overtime Saturday boosted the Dallas Stars to a 5-4 victory against the St. Louis Blues. Daley's seventh goal this season was a slapshot past Chris Mason after an assist by Mike Modano. Dallas' Loui Eriksson scored twice and Mike Ribeiro once.
Loui Eriksson scored twice Friday night and the Dallas Stars avoided what would have been their second collapse in as many nights, downing Anaheim 3-2. The Stars let a two-goal lead get away in the closing minutes against Los Angeles Thursday and lost that game in overtime. They had a two-goal advantage over the Ducks with time winding down Friday before Anaheim threw a scare into Dallas by getting a goal from Bobby Ryan with 2:32 to play. This time, however, Marty Turco survived Anaheim's final push to get the win with 36 saves. Eriksson gave Dallas a 2-0 lead with 5:21 to play in the second period and he produced the eventual game-winner 8:48 into the third.
The surging Pittsburgh Penguins, led by Evgeni Malkin's goal and two assists, won for the fifth time in six games Sunday, topping the Dallas Stars 4-1. James Neal scored the winning goal in the shootout Monday night to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Neal, the second shooter for Dallas, put a shot into the left corner of the net.
