By CHRIS FARAONE Last Sunday, dorks, dweebs and cohorts congregated at the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square for the Boston premiere of the fringe hip- hop documentary "Nerdcore Rising." The movie follows MC Frontalot, the self-proclaimed Grandfather of Nerdcore Hip-Hop, on his first national tour in 2006.

Damian Hess still remembers the day his nerd identity collided with his hip-hop future. It was at fourth-grade YMCA day camp. He was grooving to "Rapper's Delight" on a turntable in the corner of the room.

CONCERT PREVIEW MC Frontalot turns hip-hop cliches on their head, even if he doesn't exactly intend that. His forthcoming album includes songs of male braggadocio, tales of ominous showdowns with his rivals, and numbers that celebrate his own prowess.
