IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that METRO Group will be using IBM software as a platform for capturing and managing data on inventory, expiration dates, and other information on meat sold at its real,- Future Store.

Germany's Metro Group had a bumper year in 2007, achieving annual sales growth of 10.0% to reach E65.9 billion. Organic sales growth, excluding the Wal-Mart and Geant acquisitions, came in at 7.1%.
