OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE: DVN) today announced that Maersk Oil has purchased Devon's 25-percent working interest in the Jack Lower Tertiary development project in the Gulf of Mexico.

Danish exploration and production firm Maersk Oil has been preliminarily awarded two new exploration licenses, PL472 and PL474, in Norway's latest licensing round. Maersk Oil said that exploration license PL472 pertains to blocks 6406/2 and 6406/3. It owns a 35% interest in this license.

A.P. Moller-Maersk, the Danish shipping company, said on Monday that it would buy the North Sea operations of Kerr-McGee, the oil and gas company, for $2.95 billion.
