TESCO took a step back in time to the days of the Industrial Revolution yesterday when it began transporting wine by canal. The supermarket chain claims the move is part of a campaign to cut carbon emissions and ease road congestion.
UK-based retailer Tesco has announced that it will start transporting its freight by canal from this month. The green waterbourne move on the Manchester Ship Canal is expected to result in thousands of trucks being taken off Britain's congested roads.
