The 10th-seeded Wolverines reached the second round of the South Region after an 11-year absence from the event. Harris scored 23 points in helping Michigan build a 58-43 lead with time winding down.
DeShawn Sims and Manny Harris combined for 56 points Thursday and Michigan shot 63 percent from the floor in defeating No. 16 Purdue 87-78. Sims had 29 points while making 13-of-16 field goal attempts.
