Defending champion David Ferrer used a strong service game Wednesday in advancing to the quarterfinals of the Ordina Open in the Netherlands. Ferrer, seeded third, had five aces and no double faults in winning 72 percent of the points on serve en route to a 6-4, 6-3 win over Oscar Hernandez.
