Ryan Jones and Steve Sullivan scored late in a busy second period Thursday night, rallying the Nashville Predators to a 4-2 victory over Columbus. The teams combined for five goals in the second stanza, which ended with Nashville holding a 3-2 lead on its way to a sixth straight victory. Jones tied the game with 4:21 left in the second by firing a slapshot past Steve Mason.
David Legwand sparked a four-goal rally in the third period Tuesday that lifted the Nashville Predators past the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3. Legwand, Jason Arnott and J.P. Dumont each had a goal and an assist for the Predators. Martin Erat had three assists and Dan Hamhuis two.
Jason Arnott scored and assisted on Martin Erat's game-winning goal Thursday, boosting the Nashville Predators to a 4-2 victory over Anaheim. The Predators won their third straight, their longest winning streak since early December. Arnott tipped in a shot 1:08 into the second period to put Nashville in front for good and he was credited with an assist on Erat's wrist shot that gave the Predators a 3-1 lead with 8:38 to play in the stanza. Anaheim closed within 3-2 at the end of two periods and that is the way it stayed until Vernon Fiddler scored into an empty net with 1:11 remaining. Pekka Rinne made 28 saves to get the victory, his fourth in five starts. Both Anaheim goals came from Corey Perry and Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed three goals on 34 shots.
