SAN FRANCISCO, Feb.

A fifteen billion dollar, five year initiative to develop clean energy technologies has just been announced by the government of Abu Dhabi at the World Energy Summit. And they are claiming that it is “the most ambitious sustainability project ever launched by a government.”

The emirate of Abu Dhabi has announced a $15 billion initial investment towards sustainable renewable energy projects. The investment will reportedly be channeled through the Masdar Initiative, a company that aims to explore, develop and commercialize future energy sources.
