By WOODY BAIRD SELMER, Tenn. - A woman who killed her preacher husband with a shotgun blast to the back as he lay in bed was sentenced Friday to three years in prison, but with time served could be released on probation in a little more than two months.
During the 10 years she was married to a handsome young preacher, Mary Winkler said she never told anyone about the bruises and the sexual humiliation she endured.
A preacher's wife who claimed her husband abused her was convicted Thursday of voluntary manslaughter for shooting him. Mary Winkler, 33, showed no emotion as the verdict was read.
