By Associated Press CHICAGO -- Mayor Richard M. Daley won a sixth term Tuesday, overcoming a City Hall corruption scandal and putting himself on course to eclipse his legendary father's record as the city's longest-serving mayor.
Chicago Mayor Richard Daley announced Monday that he is running for a sixth term. If he wins and serves a full term, he will have been mayor of Chicago for longer than his father, also named Richard, the Chicago Tribune reported. The first Mayor Daley headed the city for 21 years.
