Jhonny Peralta drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth Saturday as Cleveland eclipsed Baltimore, 9-8, in the Orioles' ninth straight loss. Peralta lined a single to center off loser Jim Johnson (4-6), the Orioles sixth pitcher, to bring in Luis Valbuena.

Reid Brignac was 4-for-4 with his first major league homer Monday when Tampa Bay ended an 11-game losing streak with an 8-4 win over Baltimore. B.J. Upton had a solo homer and two runs scored for the Rays, who won for the first time since beating Boston Sept. 2.

Melvin Mora's three hits and three RBI Saturday boosted Baltimore to a 5-4 win over the Texas Rangers. Mora's RBI single snapped a 4-4 tie with two outs in the bottom of the fifth to produce the eventual game-winning run.

Nick Markakis and Cesar Izturis each had three hits and three RBI Tuesday to lead the Baltimore Orioles to an 8-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. Brian Matusz (1-0), the fourth overall selection in the 2008 draft, was recalled from Double-A Bowie to make his first start.

Melvin Mora drove in runs in two different at bats during an eight-run sixth inning Friday that allowed the Baltimore Orioles to coast past Washington 11-1. The Orioles were clinging to a two-run lead before sending a dozen men to the plate in the sixth.
