The San Francisco 49ers accuse the New York Jets of tampering with holdout wide receiver Michael Crabtree, the New York Daily News reported Monday. The newspaper said the Niners may believe the Jets could have contacted the agent for Crabtree, who was the 10th overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft. It would not be the first time the Jets have been accused of tampering.

Former Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree is prepared to skip the 2009 NFL season, his adviser, David Wells, told ESPN.com Thursday. Crabtree, a 6-foot-1 inch, 214-pounder, left the Lubbock, Texas, school after his sophomore season, during which he amassed 97 receptions for 1,165 yards with 19 touchdowns in 2008-09. He skipped San Francisco's off-season minicamps and organized team activities while recovering from a foot injury. We are prepared to (re-enter the NFL Draft in 2010), Wells said. Michael just wants fair-market value, said Wells, who is also Crabtree's cousin.

Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree announced Tuesday he would skip his final two years of eligibility and enter this year's NFL draft. Crabtree won this season's Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the nation's top receiver. In two years with the Red Raiders, he produced 3,127 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns.
