Alvin Gentry has reached a three-year agreement to become the head coach of the NBA's Phoenix Suns, the team said Saturday. Gentry had been named interim head coach after Terry Porter was fired at the All-Star break.

The report added Marbury has been told to stay away from the team at least until Monday, when his status will be re-addressed/ The 12-year veteran will not be paid when he misses Saturday's contest against Golden State at Madison Square Garden. Also, he will not be welcome in the home locker room, ESPN said. Wednesday's incident appears to be a case of insubordination, a claim Marbury denied in an earlier interview with the New York Post.
