STAMFORD, Conn., May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- No one takes beards more seriously than pro hockey players and their fans, who toss their blades each April when the playoffs begin.
DALLAS, Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dallas Stars have been making a legitimate run for the Stanley Cup this year and some say their recent success could be attributed to their solid defense and consistent goaltending.
Trevor Daley's goal 16 seconds into overtime Saturday boosted the Dallas Stars to a 5-4 victory against the St. Louis Blues. Daley's seventh goal this season was a slapshot past Chris Mason after an assist by Mike Modano. Dallas' Loui Eriksson scored twice and Mike Ribeiro once.
Brendan Morrison's two power-play goals Tuesday carried the Dallas Stars past the Los Angeles Kings 3-2. The win at Staples Center kept the Stars' faint playoff hopes alive by snapping a seven-game winless streak. Jack Johnson and Anze Kopitar scored for the host Kings, who are also struggling to stay in the Stanley Cup race. Jonathan Quick allowed three goals on 35 shots for the Kings.
The Dallas Stars rode two goals by rookie James Neal Tuesday to a 4-1 win over San Jose that broke a five-game losing streak. Brian Sutherby and Mike Modano each added a goal and an assist for the Stars. Marty Turco made 24 saves in the win. The Sharks' only goal was by Joe Thornton.
