About 200 people turned out in Maryland for a private memorial service for Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, who was killed last week in a car crash. The turnout for Thursday's service included Angels' owner Arte Moreno, General Manager Tony Reagins, Manager Mike Scioscia and pitching coach Mike Butcher, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

A torn pectoral muscle on the right side of his chest wall will sideline LA Angels right fielder Vladimir Guerrero for four weeks, the team said Friday. Guerrero, 34, underwent right knee surgery in October and was brought along slowly at spring training. The team said on its Web site before Friday's contest at Minnesota that Guerrero has struggled since making a throw from right field in an April 2 exhibition game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Obviously, short of needing surgery, this is a big blow, said Angels' Manager Mike Scioscia.

The Los Angeles Angels said Monday they have agreed to a contract extension with Manager Mike Scioscia that will keep him with the club through the 2014 season. The team said it agreed in principle to a new deal but did not disclose terms, the Los Angeles Times reported.
