Sawgrass Mills, the largest outlet, value retail and entertainment center in the United States, has added a permanent art collection of whimsical seven foot-tall alligator sculptures created by select South Florida artists.

The Mills Corp., the owner of Potomac Mills mall in Prince William County, said yesterday that it now favors a $1.6 billion offer from Simon Property Group Inc. and hedge fund Farallon Capital Management LLC.

Troubled U.S. shopping-mall owner Mills Corp. has agreed to be acquired by Brookfield Asset Management Inc. for $1.35 billion, the companies said Wednesday. Brookfield agreed to pay $21 a share.

Q: IHOP closure I'd like to know why the IHOP restaurant on Hawthorne Boulevard just south of Carson Street in Torrance closed and if there's going to be another one there soon. I really liked that place.
