By Larry Rulison, Albany Times Union, N.Y. Feb. 13--COHOES -- An influential environmental group has joined the Green Island Power Authority in its fight to build a new hydropower plant on the Mohawk River upstream from Cohoes Falls.

A power plant on the Mohawk River has become the place to spot bald eagles in the Capital Region. One day last month, 21 eagles congregated near the School Street hydropower plant at the base of historic Cohoes Falls.
