Mike Green scored twice Wednesday, helping the Washington Capitals rally to a 5-3 win over the New York Islanders. The Southeast Division-leading Capitals faced a 2-0 deficit before Alexander Ovechkin's 54th goal at 5:37 of the second started their comeback. Green's goals -- his 29th and 30th this season -- came on power plays at 10:55 and 12:18 of the third.
Alexander Ovechkin scored the game-winner in the third round of a shootout Saturday night, giving the Washington Capitals a 5-4 win over Carolina. Ovechkin's heroics allowed Washington to escape after blowing leads of 3-1 and 4-2 in regulation.
Alexander Semin's goal just 22 seconds into overtime Saturday lifted the Washington Capitals to a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins. With Washington leading 3-2, Boston defenseman Zdeno Chara's 15th goal this season (power play) tied it 3-3 at the 15:23 mark of the third period.
