Scottish Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon says her country has transferred a critically-ill female H1N1 flu patient to Sweden for treatment. Sturgeon said the H1N1 virus patient, suffering from what was originally called swine flu, was transferred from Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Scotland, to a hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, to undergo an extra corporeal membrane oxygenation procedure intended to save her life, The Glasgow Herald said Friday. This woman has suffered severe complications and requires urgent and highly specialist treatment, the Scottish health official said.
