Defending champion Amelie Mauresmo lost in the fourth round at Wimbledon on Tuesday, struggling with her serve throughout and falling to Nicole Vaidisova 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-1 in a match interrupted by rain three times.

Serena Williams overcame two breaks in the second set to beat Dinara Safina of Russia 6-2, 6-3 Sunday and reach the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Top-ranked Roger Federer routed Andy Roddick 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 Thursday to advance to the Australian Open final.

Unseeded and ranked No. 81, Serena Williams made it back to a Grand Slam final with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Nicole Vaidisova at the Australian Open.
