Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that Eduardo Montes, former member of the Siemens managing board has resigned from the company's board of directors. He will be replaced by Siegfried Russwurm, member of the Siemens managing board and head of corporate human resources.

ESPOO, Finland, October 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Eduardo Montes, 57, former Member of the Siemens Managing Board has resigned from the Board of Directors of Nokia Siemens Networks B.V., effective as of October 6, 2008.

Niklas Savander, the head of Nokia's new software and Services unit, said that their internet offering is far from ready and the world's top mobile phone maker is seeking further acquisitions to speed up the roll out of new services.

Nokia's services and software unit has announced plans to refine parts of its global research and development activities. While Nokia continues to grow its investments in consumer internet services, the unit plans to integrate some of its content delivery services into a single service.
