Nuon has reported that Dutch households unknowingly waste around 14% of the electricity and 43% of the gas they consume, or an average of E585 per household. The utility said that preventing this wastage could reduce energy bills by around 30%.

Dutch electricity utility Nuon has installed the first of the 20 new-generation high-efficiency boilers in an Amsterdam apartment owned by the Ymere housing association, in a pilot program to produce both heat and electricity, and yield substantial energy savings through decentralized generation.

Dutch energy company Nuon has decided to build a factory for the large-scale production of solar cell laminate. This production facility will be located on the Kleefse Waard industrial park in Arnhem, the Netherlands, alongside the Nuon Helianthos test factory, which is currently under construction.

Dutch utility Nuon has acquired 100% of the share capital of Burlington Resources Nederland Petroleum from ConocoPhillips, to become shareholder in 35 gasfields in the Dutch North Sea as well as gas pipelines and processing facilities.
