A HELPING hand is being offered to sufferers of a debilitating disease and their families. The Glasgow branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society is inviting people affected by the condition to the City Chambers on Friday to hear about the services and support available.

NEWCASTLE University has been awarded pounds 181,000 for crucial research into Parkinson's disease. The cash, awarded by the Parkinson's Disease Society, will allow scientists to study how sufferers develop it.
