Take Me Out to the Ball Game is to be honored with the Towering Song Award at the upcoming 2008 Songwriters Hall of Fame gala in New York, organizers said. Produced by Phil Ramone, the event is to be held June 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan.

U.S. entertainer Paul Anka has been chosen to receive the Johnny Mercer Award at the upcoming Songwriters Hall of Fame 2008 Awards dinner in New York. Hal David, Chairman and CEO of the Hall of Fame, made the announcement Tuesday. The event is to take place June 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Actor Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka, have welcomed their new daughter, Francesca Nora, in Los Angeles. The girl, the couple's first child, was born Oct. 28, Bateman's rep, Cara Tripicchio told CBS's The ShowBuzz on Monday.
