Former Masters champion Kenny Perry shot 7-under-par 63 Sunday and won the PGA Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., by three shots. Perry finished 72 holes with a record-setting total of 22-under 258, beating the previous low of 259 set by Tim Norris in 1982. With so many people so close, I knew it was going to be something special today to win this golf tournament, the 48-year-old Elizabethtown, Ky., native said after winning his 11th tournament title since turning 40.

Paul Goydos continued the tradition of low scoring at the Texas Open Friday by grabbing a three-shot lead with a 36-hole total of 12-under 128. The lowest 72-hole score in the history of the PGA Tour was shot over the LaCantera Resort course six years ago -- a 254 turned in by Tommy Armour III. Goydos could challenge that record over the weekend as he seeks the third victory of his tour career.

They had a one-shot lead over Jeff Maggert, Marc Leishman and Ted Purdy.
