Food and drug retailer Safeway has announced that is it offering flu vaccines in all its US stores through February 2009, or while supplies last.

Safeway Inc. (NYSE:SWY) today announced that is it offering flu vaccines in all their U.S stores. Now through February 2009, or while supplies last, flu vaccines will be administered at stores.

To assist residents evacuating due to Hurricane Ike, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores are reminding all evacuees that they can fill prescriptions at any Randalls or Tom Thumb store pharmacy outside of the storm-affected areas of Texas, or at any pharmacy store in the United States operated by their parent company, Safeway Inc.

Safeway Inc. announced that it is offering vaccination to prevent against shingles in over 700 pharmacies in the states of AK, CA, CO, DE, HI, ID, IL, MT, NE, NV, OR, PA, TX, VA and WA administered by Safeway pharmacists.

With the devastation from the Southern California fires, Safeway Inc. and its Southern California-based Vons division today announced $750,000 in support for relief efforts in the region.
