The Arena Football League announced Monday it will suspend its 2009 season and develop a plan to restructure and improve revenues. The 16-team indoor football league's season was suspended in light of the current unprecedented economic climate and it will use the time to formulate a restructuring plan, Acting Commissioner Ed Policy said in a statement. The AFL's board of directors met via conference call Sunday and voted in favor of a motion to suspend the season.
