The Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force today submitted to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger 12 linked recommendations and several proposed near-term actions to protect the Delta ecosystem and the state's water supply.
By Matt Weiser, The Sacramento Bee, Calif. Dec. 1--California must find another way to move its drinking water through the fragile Delta, a committee appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger decided Friday, but the estuary also needs immediate help before anybody leaps into new plumbing projects.
More than 1,600 local water officials are expected to attend the Association of California Water Agencies' 2007 Spring Conference and Exhibition from May 8-11 in Sacramento. The Governor has been invited to discuss his Strategic Growth Plan and water storage legislation.
