Lastings Milledge hit a ninth-inning, game-winning two-run single Sunday, rallying the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 6-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Milledge's bases loaded single -- his only hit of the game -- capped a four-run rally in the bottom of the ninth. Andy LaRoche had two hits and two RBI, a run scored on an error by Rafael Furcal, another scored on Clayton Kershaw's third-inning wild pitch, and Andrew McCutchen had three of the 11 hits for the Pirates, who have won two of three. The winner was closer Matt Capps (4-8). Furcal's two RBI led Los Angeles.

Rafael Furcal hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth Thursday and the Los Angeles Dodgers, despite blowing a four-run lead, downed Washington 7-6. The Dodgers, who began the night with a five-game lead over Colorado atop the National League West, got an RBI single from Manny Ramirez and a three-run homer from Matt Kemp in the first inning. They spent the rest of the game trying to fight off the Nationals, who could not avoid losing for the 100th time this season. Washington forged a 6-6 tie in the sixth on RBI singles by Cristian Guzman and Willie Harris and the score remained deadlocked until Furcal's blast in the eighth. Washington reliever Ron Villone (4-6) retired the lead-off man in the eighth, but Furcal hit a 1-0 pitch out to right for his ninth homer of the season. That made a winner out of Ramon Troncoso (5-4).

Rafael Furcal's pinch-hit single in the eighth inning Wednesday sent pinch-runner Russell Martin racing home for a 1-0 LA Dodgers win over the Colorado Rockies. Furcal, batting for reliever and winner Ramon Troncoso (2-0), knocked in Martin from second base with one out. Brad Ausmus had two of the six hits for the Dodgers, who rose to 10-2 against the Rockies this season. Los Angeles starter Clayton Kershaw surrendered one hit and five walks in five scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Closer Jonathan Broxton, the last of four pitchers, earned his 19th save for a 1-2-3 ninth. The Dodgers were playing their final contest without suspended outfielder Manny Ramirez.

Russell Martin worked a bases-loaded walk with two out in the ninth Friday to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 1-0 win over San Diego. After Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers and Jake Peavy of the Padres had staged a tremendous pitcher's duel, Duaner Sanchez (1-1) surrendered the game's only run by missing the strike zone on a 3-2 pitch to Martin, who had gone hitless in three at-bats. Sanchez came on to start the ninth and allowed a leadoff single to Rafael Furcal.

Free agent shortstop Rafael Furcal has decided to re-sign with the National League's Los Angeles Dodgers. The nine-year veteran made his decision after rejecting a deal with the Atlanta Braves, his team for eight seasons before joining the Dodgers in 2008. The Oakland Athletics also had expressed mild interest. Reports said Atlanta offered $30 million for three years, but the 31-year-old native of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic, got a signing option for a fourth year from the Dodgers for the same money. He batted .357 with five homers and 16 RBI in 36 games in 2008 before season-ending lower back surgery. He's a special player, Manager Joe Torre said on the Dodgers' Web site.
