News - Rajon Rondo
NORWELL, Mass., Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- NBA Championship winner and Boston Celtics Point Guard Rajon Rondo partners with iRenew(TM) this month to be the first to wear the company's new sports band slated to hit the market in early 2011.
Dwight Howard gave Orlando the lead with 3:50 to play Thursday and the Magic scored the final eight points to down Boston 83-75 and stay alive in the playoffs. Orlando tied the Eastern Conference semifinals at 3-3 and forced a deciding seventh game, which will be played in Boston on Sunday.
Glen Davis hit a jumper at the buzzer Sunday to lift the Boston Celtics to a 95-94 win over Orlando and even their Eastern Conference semifinals series. The two teams will meet Tuesday for Game 5 in Boston. Davis, who scored 21 points and had six rebounds, kept the Celtics from falling into a deep hole when he drained the game-winner from inside the 3-point line on the left wing. I work on that shot every day, Davis said after the game.
Eddie House scored 31 points for the best playoff performance of his career Wednesday, carrying Boston to a 112-94 decision over Orlando. The defending champion Celtics evened the Eastern Conference semifinal series at 1-1 after falling behind by as many as 28 points in the opening game. Ray Allen added 22 points for Boston and Rajon Rondo had his third triple-double of the playoffs with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 18 assists. Allen and Rondo, however, combined to make only 14-of-34 shots Wednesday after going 4-for-24 in the first game. Boston's Paul Pierce was in foul trouble most of the night and wound up with only three points. House made up for Pierce's problems by hitting 11-of-14 from the field for his playoff high.
Dwight Howard had 16 points and 22 rebounds Monday to help the Orlando Magic beat Boston 95-90 in the opener of their Eastern semifinal. The Magic were ahead by 28 points in the third quarter. The reigning NBA champion Celtics were coming off a series against Chicago that went to seven games, including four overtime contests totaling seven extra sessions. The Magic used a 37-7 run from late in the first half into the third quarter to build a 65-37 cushion before the Celtics rallied with a comeback that fell five points short. Rashard Lewis added 18 points and Mickael Pietrus 17 for the Magic.
