Ramon Hernandez singled home the winning run in the top of the ninth Tuesday to give Cincinnati a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia. After trailing 3-0, the Reds battled back with two home runs by Brandon Phillips. Philadelphia went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. David Weathers (1-1) pitched one inning for the win.

Nick Hundley's home run with two outs in the bottom of the 16th led the Padres to a 6-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds in San Diego early Sunday. The marathon game was the longest in the majors this season. Hundley had two of the Padre's hits, the biggest one off Micah Owings in a home run over the wall in left field, giving the Padres consecutive victories for the first time since April 16-18. Edgar Gonzalez and Brian Giles each had solo home runs for the Padres, who have lost 19 of 25 since starting the season 9-3.
