Tv Presenter Richard Hammond is the most famous patient saved by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The team's response to Mr Hammond's high-speed crash in Elvington, near Pocklington, in September 2006, thrust the charity into the national spotlight, much to the delight of its long- serving supporters.
