Richie Ramsey posted a bogey-free 4-under-par 67 Friday and jumped into the lead halfway through the Wales Open. Ramsey, who is at 7-under 135 after 36 holes, was tied for eighth after the tournament's first round but his 67 was one of Friday's best rounds.
Shane Lowry, who last week became the third amateur to win a European PGA Tour event, on Thursday officially turned professional. Lowry won the Irish Open, taking the title on the third sudden-death playoff hole. The allowed him to jump 10 spots to the No. 6 ranking among the world amateur golfers.
