NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell ruled Thursday that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will be eligible in Week 3 of the regular season. The decision cut Vick's absence in half. Originally, Goodell said the convicted dog-fighter would not play until Week 6. He made the decision following a meeting with Vick at his New Jersey hotel room before Thursday's pre-season contest against the New York Jets. He has a better feel for the challenges ahead of him, Goodell told reporters at his New York office.
