The Lakers' Kobe Bryant and the Spurs' Tim Duncan dueled down the stretch and it appeared Bryant had given Los Angeles its fifth straight win when he hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds to play. That gave Los Angeles a 111-109 lead, but Mason followed by hitting a jump shot as he was being fouled by Derek Fisher.
