Ryan Briscoe nipped Scott Dixon Sunday to win the IRL Peak Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300 at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. The Team Penske driver, the race's pole winner, battled back from 10th place before battling Dixon side-by-side for the lead in the final 10 laps. His margin of victory, 0.0077 seconds, was the fourth closest finish in IndyCar history. I didn't know I had won it, Briscoe said shortly after his third victory this season and fifth in his IRL career.

Dario Franchitti led all the way Sunday in California's Grand Prix of Sonoma, winning his fourth IndyCar Series race of the year. Scott Dixon easily won Sunday's Honda Indy 200 in Lexington, Ohio, and established an IRL record with his 20th career victory. Dixon, driving his Dallara Honda, passed Justin Wilson at the race's mid-point, benefited from a quick pit stop, and was dominant late on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Wilson trailed Dixon by six seconds but ran out of fuel while coasting for his final stop along pit road. Dixon overcame Sam Hornish Jr.
