Justin Maxwell slammed a two-run homer in the 11th inning Saturday to lead the Washington Nationals to a 6-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. Nearing the end of a dismal season, the Nationals continued a six-game winning streak in the third game of the four-game series. Cristian Guzman had two RBI for the Nats, while Ian Desmond hit a solo home run and Ryan Zimmerman scored a run and drove in one. Brian McCann drove in two and Greg Norton and Kelly Johnson had a pinch-hit RBI each for the Braves, who have dropped five straight. With the game tied 2-2, Guzman doubled to right in the 10th, scoring Zimmerman and Adam Dunn.

Pete Orr singled home Ryan Zimmerman from second with one out in the ninth Thursday, giving the Washington Nationals a 2-1 victory over Atlanta. Before taking the field, the Braves knew their slim playoff hopes had come to an end.
