The 11-year-old from Stansbury Park received a Bronze Star, the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can get, for risking her life in December to rescue a friend who had fallen through ice on a frozen lake.

No disrespect for a great governor, but the person most responsible for the original Salt Palace construction was Marv Jenson. Elected Salt Lake County commissioner in 1962, two years before Rampton was elected, Marv led the battle to build a convention center in Salt Lake City.
