Brian Skinner paced Los Angeles to a 23-point lead after one period Friday and the Clippers coasted to a 109-78 victory over Sacramento. The Clippers ended a six-game losing streak by hitting 53 percent of their shots from the field in a meeting of the two worst teams in the Western Conference -- and two of the three worst in the NBA. Skinner made 9-of-12 shots and scored 21 points.
Eric Gordon scored 26 points Wednesday and the Los Angeles Clippers came alive in the second half to pull away from Washington 123-108. The Clippers scored 67 points in the second half and dominated the fourth period after rallying to tie the game after three quarters. Los Angeles won for just the second time in 10 games while the Wizards remain stuck on five road victories for the season. Al Thornton made 9-of-12 shots from the field and scored 21 points for the Clippers, who shot 58 percent and made 15-of-26 from 3-point range. Washington was led by 24 points from Antawn Jamison.
Josh Smith and Joe Johnson combined for 47 points Wednesday and Atlanta breezed past the struggling Los Angeles Clippers 97-80. Los Angeles has lost 12 consecutive games, last winning at Indiana Dec.
Rasual Butler made six three-point shots Friday and produced 27 points to send the New Orleans Hornets coasting past the Los Angeles Clippers 107-80. The Hornets had lost two of their previous three games, but made 51 percent of their shots from the field and had no problem with the struggling Clippers after opening a 10-point lead through one period. James Posey added 16 points for New Orleans and Tyson Chandler had 13. The Clippers have lost 10 in a row and are one of four teams in the NBA this season that have yet to reach 10 victories.
Richard Jefferson led eight Milwaukee players in double figures with 22 points Saturday night and the Bucks beat the Los Angeles Clippers 119-85. Jefferson also pulled down nine rebounds.
