Jeff Reed kicked a 33-yard field goal 4:32 into overtime Thursday, giving Pittsburgh a 13-10 win over Tennessee in the opening game of the NFL's 90th season. The defending Super Bowl champion Steelers faced a 10-7 deficit before tying it midway through the fourth period on a field goal by Reed. They then botched an opportunity to win it late in regulation before Ben Roethlisberger drove Pittsburgh 63 yards in 10 plays on the opening possession of the extra period. Tennessee's Rob Bironas missed a field goal and had another blocked in the first half and neither team could score until Roethlisberger hit Santonio Holmes with a 34-yard touchdown pass with 1:22 remaining in the second quarter. The Titans promptly drove 72 yards in just three plays and Kerry Collins tied it at halftime by throwing a 14-yard scoring pass to Justin Gage with 48 seconds remaining. Pittsburgh prosecutors dropped the marijuana charges against Steelers wide receive Santonio Holmes, saying they lacked probable cause in the case. Assistant District Attorney Rachel Newman said at a Wednesday hearing the tip that led police to pull Holmes over in the city's Hill District had been deemed not reliable enough. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said Holmes declined comment after the hearing other than to say he was all right. Holmes, this year's Super Bowl MVP, was charged with possession in October after being stopped by an officer who had received a tip that a late-model SUV with out-of-state plates was carrying a large cargo of drugs.

Burress, 31, was charged with two felony counts of illegal gun possession related to a November incident at a New York night club in which he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
