Archaeologists have unearthed four new temples in the Sinai peninsula, including one of mud brick with fortified walls that served as an important religious center at the eastern gateway to ancient Egypt.
The Egyptian government announced Wednesday that archaeologists have found what they believe to be the ancient ruins of the headquarters of the Pharaonic army, which guarded Egypt’s northeastern border for more than 1,500 years.
Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis said on 25/4/ 2008 South Sinai will be linked to the national electricity grid in June. Younis said the linkage is part of the celebration of Sinai's liberation on April 25.
Eng. Magid George Minister of State for Environment affairs said 2/3/2008 the Ministry is carrying out projects on the running natural materials and water resources for limiting down the desertification phenomenon and providing desert areas with drinking water.
