By Neil Merrick A-level students at Cambridge Regional College received a bit of a shock during the run-up to this summer's exams. Those hoping to return in September and complete their courses found that the college had decided to stop offering A-levels and focus on vocational programmes.
The future of Welsh sixth forms remains uncertain after it was revealed Elwa favours the creation of central colleges in some counties. A review of post-16 education by the quango is being conducted in pilot areas of Wales - including Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Blaenau Gwent.
WHEN you're in the middle of the exam period, your head buried in a book or over a perfectly coloured in revision timetable, it seems like there couldn't be a worse feeling.
